Shopping
These past few weeks, I've been accompanying people for shopping!
I've not bought anything so far during this summer sale.
Except the one time shopping trip after the exams.
Haha I have immense amount of self control I must say!
Anyway been following guys around while they go shopping, and from my own personal observation I realize that guys are just as vain, fashion conscious as the girls are, perhaps even more so. I wonder if I have the tendency to hang out with the new breed of guys who are very metro-sexual and like to look good in what they wear. Hmm.....*ponders*
Although I would like to say I don't think there's anything wrong with guys being vain etc. In fact a quality I would much admire, although not to the extreme. At least they make an effort in dressing up to look good :)
I bet everybody has a secret narcissistic alter-ego hidden deep within. Come on admit it, who doesn't like looking good eh??
Ah.....Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that guys actually have some sort of low self-esteem. I'm not quite sure if I could call it low self-esteem.
Imagine me standing at the side, and the other person standing in front of the mirror preening while uttering things like "I need to lose weight", "I need to go to the gym to work out look good in this top"
Hahhaa. Oh my goodness, words I thought only would come out of a girls' mouth.
Oh not forgetting my close guy friend who threw open his wardrobe to let me have a sneak peek into his clothes, accompanied by a running commentary on where he got his clothes from etc. I gotta say I'm kinda jealous with all the nice and expensive clothes he has. Tsk!
Forgot to mention the one more guy friend who has a HUGE HUGE walk-in-closet.

And lastly who could forget the most memorable quote of someone's housemate who said he rather not eat use the money to buy clothes instead!

Korean Restaurant Arang
Since I'm so free now, so I shall continue attempting to entertain everyone by posting more nonsense up.
Okay continuation of my review of lousy restaurant food!
I think in my previous post I've already mentioned about this Korean restaurant.
Shueh Hao actually told me before that the food here is good.
But too bad cause I think the food here sucks!
Let's start off with some obligatory cam-whore photos. Cam-whoring is so much fun! Whee!! (Please note my sarcasm)
This next dish is Cod with Teriyaki sauce.
Anyway it's so YUCKS!
So sickeningly sweet.
YUCKS YUCKS YUCKS!!
What's wrong with the cook? trying to give me diabetes I think.
Seriously, feel like dumping the food on the cook's head and see the sauce dripping from his hair! Argh!
Oh by the way, we decided to bring the food to the park opposite the restaurant to eat.
Ended up sitting on one of the benches beside these two French women who were conversing away in French, and who ended up smoking, with all the fumes blowing into our faces when we were eating. How infuriating.
Hate the smell of cigarettes! Bah.
Anyway my conclusion is, eat the stuff here only if you're prepared to pay more money for the more expensive food. But I honestly think, if they can't even make the cheap food properly, I doubt I would be willing to shell out money for the more expensive food!

This could also be one of the contributory factors of why I thought the food sucks.
My brother's theory was that the lunch take away menu food was catered for the Caucasian crowd, and he thinks that the food in Arang should be quite good as he always see lots of Koreans going there to eat.
Let me tell you the other food in the menu is expensive!

So anyway this is what we ordered, first up is spicy beef with rice and salad I think. I ate this nearly 2 weeks plus ago so I can't exactly remember the names of the food.
By the way, if you pay extra 50p for the meal you get an additional canned drink :)
Anyway this dish nothing great, just very ordinary. I think I can cook the same the at home too!

Eating....
Since my relatives came over, I've been on some great big eating expedition.
This has resulted in my exponential increase in size of my waist, therefore causing me to be unable to fit into clothes.
Bah!
By the way, only exercise I seem to be getting is walking to find more food to eat!
Gonna keep a count of all the foodie places I've been going to.
- Had Korean food at Arang ( I think the food sucks!). Only reason we went to Arang was because we were trying to look for another Korean restaurant and we couldn't find it and we were walking up and down and were getting hungrier and hungrier by the minute and at last settled for Arang because it was right in front of us and also heard that the food there was good.
- Dim Sum at Phoenix Palace in Baker Street. Originally wanted to go to Royal China but so ex!
Food was very tasty, but I don't think the Chef was skillful enough, an example would be the xiao long bao whereby the Chef made the skin was too thick and there was no soup inside.
Making xiao long bao is a fine art, between making the skin too thick and too thin. If skin is too thin, obviously the xiao long bao will burst easily causing hot soup to spill everywhere!
My cousin Victor says the dim sum food in Royal China is finer but unfortunately you pay a lot more for it too!
- Chinese food ta pau-ed from Royal China. We had Salt and Pepper fried squid, Steam chicken with ginger, and fried beef with pepper and the bill amounted to like 36 pounds (OMG, didn't know it was so ex!!) and the person who bought the food sat the tube all the way to Queensway and back to Russell square just to buy the food (cause he seems to think that the Queensway branch is perhaps the more authentic one out of the other branches). Anyway don't think the food is worth the price! And it was so little food for the price they charged! wtf!
- French bakery shop in Judd Street. OMG. Cakes, pastries all to DIE for!!!! yummmmyyy.....
Was walking with my aunt, and we walked past this bakery and she suddenly decided to pop in and buy one each for everybody. Each cake/pastry was about 2 pounds each. And I was kinda scared cause I thought the cakes/pastries might not be good, cause there was this one time, my friends recommended me this famous bakery which has a few branches in London, Patisserie Valerie, and me and my brother decided to pop in try a slice of the cake. Anyway was so disappointed with the cake! Yikes! Wasted my money!! Scoffs at lousy cake from famous French cafe!
Look so good but taste like crap. What a shame!

- Went to 4 seasons in Bayswater with the relatives to meet their friends.
Oh Thank Goodness there was roasted duck!!
Me, my brother and the two cousins did go over to 4 seasons a few days ago in Chinatown, and there was no duck, and we actually did WALK OUT of the restaurant. Apparently the UK government is having some crackdown on illegal ovens imported from Hong Kong used by the restaurants to make roasted duck.
Anyway, we also had fried squid, ma pou toufu or dunno wad toufu dish (nothing spectacular so can't quite remember what it was), Free soup too, and fatty pork with some black garlic sauce.
Was quite disappointed with the roasted duck. Definitely not up to standard. Tsk!
By the way, bump into like the whole world there! Causing the aunties to think I know the whole world or something. We seem to bump into people we know everything we go to 4 seasons in Bayswater for some reason. I would like to believe that I was fated to meet my friends who I have not seen in ages!! Hehehe :)
- Buffet at Indian restaurant near King's Cross station. Remember I said before that we walked out of 4 seasons in China town, well we ended up eating buffet instead!! My cousin Victor suggested that we try out this Indian restaurant which has buffet on Saturdays at 6.99 pounds. Since my brother couldn't find his oyster card, 4 of us walked all the way from China town which is located near Leicester Square to King's Cross, and we were so freaking tired and hungry by the time we reached the restaurant! Also compounded by the fact that the only thing we had eaten the whole day was peanut porridge which I cooked in the morning, it was soo delicious, cause I put scallops in which I had confiscated from Victor :P also added lots and lots of pork marinated with Kikkoman soya sauce, oyster sauce, pepper. Honestly I swear by using Kikkoman soya sauce! It does add a whole new dimension of flavour to Chinese food, making it so much more tasty. Well worth the money spent on it! Also not to forget, the cheaper soya sauce most probably has dodgy ingredients in it. My mum told me to stop buying cheap soya sauce. I can't believe I spent almost a year surviving on the cheap buy one free one soya sauce which was like 50 pence a bottle bought from the Matthews the ONLY Chinese shop in Aberdeen.
Anyway back to the topic, went into the Indian restaurant, and saw a notice that students will get a 10% discount, so flashed my student ID at them :)
The 4 of us wolf all the food down in a matter of seconds! I think out of all the food, the lamb curry was the best :) Also the naan bread was made at the shop and it was a special naan bread with coconut and brown sugar in between and it was so sweet and chewy.
The service was also excellent, and the waiters and the owner was polite and courteous :)
They also served us sliced orange in the end with warm towels, and initially I was quite skeptical, as usually when you go into Chinese restaurants when they serve you peanuts, towels, whatever, you usually end up having an extra charge mysteriously appearing on your bill. Anyway, Victor says that the Indian restaurant doesn't charge for it.
So anyway, after out 10% discount, each person ended up paying about 6.05 pounds if I'm not mistaken. Very worth it! Food is good! Highly recommended place.

Pass!!!
Yeay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I managed to pass my 4th year exams!!!
I'm a final year medical student now!!
After a long long long hard 4th year.
The end of the road is near.
I was so pessimistic about it all as I thought I had screwed up my Osce.
Thank God!
Anyway took a 12 hour bus ride down to London yesterday and arrived this morning.
The tube ride from Victoria station to Russel square was a nightmare!!
Nightmare in the sense that I was walking around looking for the tube station and then had to walk up and down staircases lugging my big red bag from one line to the next to change trains and have a strange man staring at me, I honestly thought he was going to grab my necklace or something. Yeah, I'm that paranoid.
Anywayyyyyyy...............SOooo great that I can finally enjoy my summer!!
Loving life again :)
*muakssss* to everybody. Love everyone :) especially all those kind, caring people I somehow managed to meet in the past couple of weeks.
All of you are angels!! Heaven sent. I don't know what I'll do without you people.
Going to miss Aberdeen loads and all the great great great people!!!

Nearly over....
Yes, my exams are finally going to be over.
I only have OSCEs left on next Tuesday.
After that it will be constant partying for the whole of summer :)
*claps hands in much delight*
Provided I don't fail that is.....
I don't wish to go through the stress of resitting the exams again...
Written papers on Monday and Wednesday were alright.
Although I wasn't as stressed on Wednesday as I was on Monday....
After the written papers it has become a non-stop alcohol feast.
Interspersed with vast amount of nonsense spewing from my mouth during my heightened state of mind.
Ahh the delights of alcohol coursing through my veins and going right up to my brain,
making everything feel all bright and sunny with everything passing by in a hazy cloud.
Although I am certainly quite sober while typing this.
hehheehe :)
Need to lay off the alcohol for awhile again. *sighs*
After exams on Wednesday, bump into Phil and Fraser who mentioned that they were heading off to the bar to drink beer to celebrate finishing the written papers.
Me: Huh? Drinking at 3 in the afternoon?? Are you serious?? (in my usual wide-eyed naive manner)
P: Yeah, but we're not going to get drunk or anything.
Me: Haha, how typically Scottish behaviour!
Went off after that for some retail therapy =)
and blew a huge sum of money...hahahhahaa....but got more new clothes :)
Yesss I'm immensely shallow and materialistic, like as if you didn't know that already :P
New clothes, new shoes makes me a happy happy gurl :)
Later at night, went for dinner which I totally absolutely REGRET going to.
Damnit.
I should so have just sat at home and watch Dexter or at the very least SLEEP! I am a very very sleep deprived person!~ I need my beauty sleep!
I think I would have derived so much more joy at watching Dexter murder people then I would have had sitting at the table, feeling so overwhelmingly bored and listless, whilst being forced to listen to the more uninteresting, uninspiring,unwitty, silliest conversation ever.
Gah the immense boredom! Somebody please shoot me already!
Ended up spending the whole night texting. I know that it was probably quite rude of me to do so, but like Whatever. I bet you'd do the same thing in my position.
Darn I've nearly ran out of out of my 250 allocated texts for the month! Bleahss...
Whatever.
Lesson learned anyway.
Not going out with certain people anymore.

HAhhehehehhe--Donkey laugh!

The point of the donkey laugh is ...
because of this sentence from my friend which totally MADE MY DAY!
especially in this bloody stressful exam period which makes you want to go mad, knock your head against the wall and vomit blood bleurgghhhhhh.........

Deathrow
Two more weeks/ 15 days of death row,
and then I'm done!!
Classes have ended!
Just two more weeks of constantly burning of midnight oil and studying...studying...studying....
I recently started getting addicted to cup-a-soup thanks to Sarah and Brian.
Nothing like a hot cup of steamy soup to break the monotomy of studying :)
By the way, I want to say that Sarah is the nicesttttttttt girl ever!
and no, I do NOT fancy Sarah, contrary to what Johnny says.
Johnny is nuts and enjoys winding me up.
Sarah is the bestttt, and it's so kind of her to send me home every night :):)
The weather is so hot lately, that I feel so suffocated.
Like I'm being wrapped so tightly with a thick wollen blanket, that I am struggling for air.
I'm feel sooooo lethargic even after hours of sleep.
The bottle of coffee sitting atop the fridge doesn't seem to be doing it's job very well. tsk tsk.
Went to tesco today and bumped into one of the plastic surgery registrar and the very cute A&E registrar.
hahhaa I think I could barely recognise them out of their green scrubs.
I accidentally wished somebody Happy Birthday two days in advance.
Ooopss...I hope he's not pissed off with me or anything.
So I would just like to take this opportunity to wish Old Man happy birthday tomorrow!!

Very Yummy Korean Food!
When I was in London during December and went to this Korean restaurant somewhere in Tottenham Court Road.
We weren't sure which Korean restaurant it was at first, and we ended up walking up and down trying to decide which Korean restaurant to go to, since there are a few restaurants along that row.
Finally decided on the one with the most people.
hahah Smart Decision!
Although I don't think this method always works, but it works most of the time.
I forgot the name of the restaurant though.
But anyway, it's cheap and yummy :)
if you go for the lunch time deal it's like 4.50 quid for like two side dishes, main dish and unlimited green tea refill.
But unfortunately, I'm a lazy, and I wake up late everyday, so by the time we got there it was past 3pm, and we just had to settle for something a little bit more expensive.
By the way, walked to the place half asleep in my pajamas...
Oh well. Worth the money though =)

Cause it was all in Korean, and I just read the English description.

Dish no.1 Some chicken thing fried with onions and cucumbers and I dunno what served with hot white rice.
Ah this dish is utterly delicious. Very orgasmic. Ah I think my mouth is watering just typing this out......Anyway it's full of seafood, prawns, clams with noodles.

tall, good looking, charming, humorous, well-mannered
and why oh why do Malaysian Chinese boys let the door slam in your face, whereas Caucasian guys open the door and say "After you".
I think Chinese guys haven't been taught enough manners.

Back in London
I'm back in London for my one week Easter break.
Need to get away for a bit from Aberdeen.
I think the place has got its' cords entangled around me neck and is slowly but surely tightening it, attempting to suffocate me whilst I struggle gasping for just a breath of fresh air to fill up my stale lungs.
My legs trying to kick free from the cords, but instead I have ended up being knotted further into this web of disdain. Contempt dripping from my fangs as I snarl as those who dare enter my lair as I try to contemplate and make sense of the world with all its lies and deceit.
By the way, went to disturb Jeff today to get books.
Jeff thinks that by insulting me it would boost his ego.
Hahha. I wonder who gave him that idea. Tsk tsk.
After that went traipsing around London with Edward,
who showed me lots of interesting places.
Sipping Earl Grey whilst catching up on the latest tantalizing gossip;
Flirting with guys who had joined the table next to ours :P
Makes for a lovely afternoon :)

Wandered around Soho, into its' nifty little sex shops, and ended up in the alleyways peppered with cafes, bars and oh-so-fashionable people with sunglasses dutifully propped up atop their perfectly coiffured hair sitting around sipping wine and coffee in the warm sun.
Ended up in this cute Parisian bakery cum cafe complete with the servers in adorable little bakery outfits including apron and nifty baker's cap.
