New York Cafe Budapest, Hungary
More trips to beautiful baroque coffee houses in Budapest!
This is from a trip last week.
All these coffee houses seems to be aim solely at tourists as the prices of the drinks are atrociously expensive for Hungarian standards!
Anyway cool experience.
Beautiful ceiling and chandelier.
Drank some strawberry wine this time. Delicious!
It was roasting hot in Budapest during spring this time.
I've become quite tanned from the sun.

Gorgeous weather today, plus testing new camera Canon S100
Castle Park today.
Sun shining brightly, but still pretty cold I must say! I was wearing a short white dress and I was freezing :(
I finally managed to get my blurry image background effect with the new camera!
Beautiful colours I must say!
Yayy! Spring is finally upon us!!
About time as it's now nearly end of April!
The weather has been ridiculous this year.

Lazy weekends are spent reading!
Weekends here are pretty much a bore.
Nothing much to do.
Most people have gone back to London.
Nothing better to do, than to spend time in the room reading :)
So far finished:
1. Brave new world- Aldous Huxley
2. The idiot- Fyodor Dostoevsky
3. Catcher in the rye- J.D. Salinger
4. The Great Gatsby- F. Scott Fitzegerald
and the race to read more books continues!
Unfortunately I have a nasty habit of reading a few pages of each book and jumping to another book... :/
I absolutely adore charity shops for books!
Next up is Oscar Wilde the picture of Dorian Gray.

Another dinner at the Green Room Bistro, Colchester
Walking around town on a Saturday night looking for a place to eat without booking.
Most restaurants were fully booked.
Back to the Green Room bistro!
Had a lovely dinner there, lamb :) very well cooked. mmmm.
Excellent company, and movie after, side effects.
Odeon cinema here charges atrocious prices.
9.95 pounds for peak time movie.
Ridiculous.

Chocolateria San Gines, Madrid, Spain
There's a really famous shop in the centre of Madrid which serves chocolate con churros.
It's in the Puerta Del Sol area.
Not that easy to find, it's tuck away in a hidden corner and you can easily walk past it without realising, I think it's near to a church if I am not mistaken.
Churros is a deep fried batter, similar to a doughnut and it's dunk into the dark, hot chocolate sauce.
When you go in the place is really busy, but worth the wait.
Don't forget to try it out, if you ever go there.
Address: Pasadizo San Ginés, 11, 28013 Madrid, Spain

Things to do in Budapest, Hungary Part 1
I was in Budapest last November, and I thoroughly enjoyed this city.
Absolutely beautiful and inexpensive as well.
Very deserving of the title Paris of the East.
One of the things I enjoyed doing most was going to thermal baths there!
I went to two when I was there.
It's also very easy to get there, there's a metro which just stops outside there.
Széchenyi fürdő metro line 1.
It's the famous spa where you can see old men sitting in the pools playing a game of chess!
The best thing is when the weather is cold, and you're soaking in a warm pool. No better feeling in the world!
The other would be going to a sauna and getting too warm and soaking yourself in a cold cold pool of water. Sounds sadistic but the discomfort seems to bring an intense amount of pleasure at the same time. It's one of those things which is difficult to explain, you just have to experience it for yourself :)
The exterior looks so pretty with all the beautiful multi coloured autumn leaves strewn on the grounds in contrast with the light brownish/yellow building. I really felt like I was in a fairytale land.
It's nice to sit in the pool and have the water from the fountain beating on your back. Very therapeutic, like getting a water massage.

1. Szechenyi Bath and spa
It's one of the largest spa with many indoor and outdoor pools. It's also very easy to get there, there's a metro which just stops outside there.

2. Lukács Thermal Bath Budapest
I came here because it was literally 10 minutes walks from my host's apartment and he recommended that I go there.
I actually preferred going to the smaller thermal bath than the bigger one.
It's more beautiful inside for one and also it's cleaner. Also the bigger spa Szechenyi is a bit too touristy for my liking. This place has more locals.
I was adviced to drink the spa water from the fountain, as it's full of minerals and supposed to be healthy. It basically taste very strongly of sulphur and like rotten eggs.

The Company Shed, Mersea Island
Impromptu trip to Mersea island on Saturday with Martin for seafood!!
We have been planning to go for ages, but never found a suitable time.
I had been having a horrible week being on call!
So this place totally lifted my spirits!!
I would say it was the highlight of my week!!
Seafood was so cheap and good!!
Huge scallops, crabs, prawns, fish everything!
So all you have to do is bring your own wine and bread and they provide everything else.
You help yourself to the wine glasses on the shelf.
Seafood was so fresh and good. All fresh catch from the sea.
You have to watch what time you are going, as during high tide, the place gets cut off from the main land as the bridge crossing into Mersea island gets flooded.
Good food, great company, good wine makes me a very happy person!
Went for a walk down the pier after the meal, was freezing to death so had to run back to the car!!!
