Nasi Lemak for dinner

I'm having nasi lemak for dinner tonight!
Don't be jealous...
Having it with fried ikan bilis, peanuts and rendang chicken...
Scrumptious!

Also celebrating my one year anniversary being in the UK!
I think this is the longest time I've spent being overseas without going home.
Luckily I'm not feeling home sick yet.

I love Gordon Ramsay!
I think he's an excellent chef!
Love watching all the cooking programmes.
I'm going to have to try his recipes of these days..

Chinese New Year dinner in Dundee

Me, CK and Mok spent almost 4 hours preparing this delicious Chinese New Year dinner!!
Looks good eh?
Taste: 10/10 for me!

Tiring!

I actually find blogging extremely tiring and time consuming!
bleahs!
I salute all the bloggers who have managed to update their blogs everyday!!
Oops guess what, I actually disconnected the freezer plug so I could plug my laptop for power.
hahhaha.
I'm so evil!

Anyway there's this evil witch working in the hospital.
haha Obviously I can't tell you where she's working at in case I get caught blogging bitching about people.
Freaking bleach blonde, bimbotic, fake and overtly tanned (I hope she gets skin cancer at some point) evil witch who likes to wear low cut tops to show case her boobs (her only attraction I presume), wears too much make up to cover up the deep seated wrinkles on her face with holes the size of craters found on planet Mars and enough mascara to drown the whole of the Sub-saharan dessert. I wish to implore her to go look at herself in the mirror. I think the mirror would crack at the mere sight of her fugliness. I hope that she trips on her high heels and falls and cracks her brainless skull!

Muahhaha...Enough bitching for the day.
Till I find another new person to bitch about!
Teehehehehe!!!

Happy Easter!!

Sorry, actually I think it should it's more appropriate to call it Belated Easter,
because Easter was yesterday.
Anyway due to the Easter holidays, some of us had last Friday off, and most of us are off today, i.e. Monday.
So basically just sitting around at home (other ppl's homes) and the school library chilling and studying.

Yesterday on Easter Sunday, woke up early and ironed my clothes.
Then set off to church after that.
Bumped into Esther and later saw Raymond pushing somebody in a wheel chair in.
Had no idea that they went to that church, I thought I was the only person who went there.
Was supposed to go with Pui Li and Grace to church for Good Friday, but it was soooo windy that I went back home to watch a French movie instead.
Anyway, Raymond invited me over to their house for Easter dinner, and he introduced me to the guy in the wheelchair- David, who was his landlord.
So, as I was walking out of church, I saw Raymond pushing David into the car, and Ray asked me if I wanted to go hang out at their place and help with the cooking. It was snowing and I was lazy to walk back, so decided to go back with them in the car instead.

Went over to their house, met Zhou Min who is Raymond's housemate and ended up having lunch with all of them and Eugene. Was taken on a tour around the house by Zhou Min.
Eugene made some middle-east salad which he learned from his flatmate, and I helped chopped the tomatoes. Had a simple but nice lunch of bread and butter, salad and salmon and crackers.
There are like 6 people staying together with David.
David's house is stacked full of books! Raymond showed me the books which David wrote.
David was actually a professor of philosophy lecturing in the University of Aberdeen until he met with an accident which left him parapelgic.

After that went to chill in Raymond's room and watch Pride and Prejudice DVD.
Poor Raymond was sick, so he had to lie and rest in his bed.
He probably caught the bug from David who is also sick.
Raymond's room is really nice.
It's separated from the main house, and it's got huge windows overlooking the garden.
Although his room was a bit chilly, but it has the best view in the whole house.
He also has a piano in his room.

Around 3pm, went to look for Zhou Min and Eugene and helped them to peel and chop potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions etc.
Nearly cut my fingers in the process.
Hahaa.
Parsnips and carrots are really tough to chop!
Watched Zhou Min marinate the lamb with garlic, sea salt, pepper, chopped red onions on the bottom, and rosemary. Had to take the lamb out every 20 mins to baste it in its juices.
Then helped with stirring the pot of chopped peaches, sugar, and butter to make the peach cobbler.
The mixture of wonderful smells emitting from the kitchen was deliciously tantalizing causing me to develop hunger pangs which were subdued by glasses of port and beer.
The port was actually going to be used for the making of the gravy of the roast lamb.
Min went to the garden and cut some thyme, and herbs to make a dressing of extra virgin olive oil and an assortment of herbs and drizzled the yummy smelling concoction over the vegetables and potatoes before placing it in the oven to roast.

By that time, Raymond had woken up from his sleep and had taken a mixture of penicillin, vitamin C and bicarbonate for his acid reflux and was looking tons better, walking around the kitchen in his hyper state and singing and helping to lay the table and make mash vegetables with cream. There were also various people walking around the house, and they were introducing me to the other housemates. I think I can't remember half their names I know there was Weru who has the messiest room ever, and Francis who is from South Africa but surprise surprise! He's actually white! He's currently studying psychology and Francis's brother who is Thomas, and Andy who is working the satosphere at the beach. Err..that's all I can remember.

Had dinner around 7pm-ish.
There was soo many delicious food, the result of our hard labour :P
Tucked into all the good food and polished it off with a glass of red wine.
Also had dessert with coffee after that. Plus some good conversation.

After dinner, Russel and Eugene took out weiqi to play.
I was walking around randomly and went to talk to Weru and ask if I could see his room, hahaha. it's like super duper messy. The messiest room I have seen in my life, honestly!
It's got clothes and papers and books strewn everywhere and big piles of it here and there. I wonder how could anybody could live in such a big mess!! Also had a discussion with about the state of the political climate in Malaysia especially the Mahathir vs Anwar saga and about the economies of third world countries. I might have been a little high on wine cause I think I was talking a little too much.

Anyway, Raymond was nice enough to drive us back. I thought I was going to trudge back wearily in the unforgiving cold and snowy darkness. My housemate was actually invited to come, and I was hoping that he would come so I could get a lift back. haha. But he was too tired so he ended up not coming..

Anyway, Easter Sunday was a blast! totally didn't expect to celebrate it in that way. I thought I was going to go back after church to do some studying, and ended up unexpectedly somewhere else. haha. You never know where the day brings you!

Aberdeen Siao weather

It's the end of March!
Which is supposed to signify the beginning of Spring.
Yet the weather is siao!
It's freaking SNOWING!
Has been snowing for the past few days.
First it snows, then it stops snowing, then the sun comes out, then it snows again, then it kinda rains, then it kinda hails. Crazy weather!!

2-3 weeks ago, it was really sunny and nice and even the flowers were coming out.
But now the evil snow has killed all the poor purple flowers...*sobs*

Spring spring....where are you??

4th Sunday of Lent

So I went down to St Peter's church to attend Mass on Sunday,
and on my way out I shook hands with the priest,
and he was like, "Nice to see you back again."
Soo embarassing.
Haven't gone to mass for more than half a year.
Can't believe he still remembers me.
Probably cause we were the only chinese people attending that church.
Have been wanting to attend Mass for ages though. But was off in Inverness and all.
Anyway during mass, the priest mentioned about how that it's not your own fault or anybody's fault if a calamity happens. Like how some people who are close to God also has bad things which happen to them. So if a calamity occurs you shouldn't go blaming yourself that you have done something wrong to deserve it, as most people would think that way.
How wonderfully succint and poignant the point which he made.

Anyway got a call from Elgan + Cindy in the afternoon, and they were thinking of making a trip up to Scotland to see the highlands during Easter.
Brilliant, except for the fact that I will be in London during that period.
Still was nice catching up with them on the phone.

Anyway found a website www.freerice.com, where you can improve your vocabulary as well as donating rice to feed the poor, hungry people throught the UN world food program.
Go play it!! It's quite addictive!

Gah in addition to losing my wallet, I thought I lost my scarf too.
My Gap scarf to be precise. My favourite scarf which keeps me nice and warm.
Don't think anybody would hand it in even if they found it.
Anyway was up and about everywhere trying to locate my scarf and wallet.
Status of wallet: Still missing
Status of scarf: Finally found it in my closet!
Gah!
Feel so stupid for reporting my scarf missing.
Anyway
Wallet still gone.
Don't think it will ever come back.
Let us have a moment of silence for me to mourn for my missing wallet.
*sob*sob*

*silence*

Like not funny.
So don't laugh.
Cause like I'm really not in a good mood.
Bahh
Had to go everywhere to look for it.
Even went to the main police headquarters to report it missing

And the patient I clerked today became grumpy/annoyed with me,
cause she thought I was asking her too many questions.
But probably cause she was in pain, as she had broken her left arm and the nurses had moved her, and the room was really warm and she was feeling sweaty.
Can't blame her I guess.
and it most certainly did not serve to improve my mood.

On a brighter note though,
saw the very cute A&E registrar this morning in his green scrubs.
soooo cute!
Tall with wavy brown hair.
*swoons*

Plus found the other nice and cute FY1 who has now transferred back to work in ARI from Woodend hospital.

Okay enough crap for today.
Back to work..

Elections in Malaysia

I'm legal age for voting.
Can't vote cause I'm not in Malaysia.
wtf.
anyway
screw malaysia
screw the world
screw everything

Not my week

I've been having freaking bad luck.
Bad luck go away and stop following me around!
Lost my freaking wallet!!
gahh.
Not much money in it though.
I shouldn't have brought my wallet out.
I don't like carrying it around anyways.
arghs.
Goodbye student ID, IC, etc.
bah!
